Tigers host Pilot Point tonight with an 11th straight district crown at stake

Gunter's football team puts a decade-long run on the line Thursday night, Nov. 5, when Pilot Point comes to Tiger Stadium with the District 5-3A Division I championship riding on the result.

The Tigers are chasing their 11th district title in a row, KTEN reported. Kickoff is at 7 p.m., according to the Denton Record-Chronicle.

A decider for both sides

The Denton Record-Chronicle's Week 11 preview called the matchup a district championship decider. It listed Gunter as the No. 3 team in the state in Class 3A Division I.

The stakes run the other way, too. A win would give the visitors their first district title since 2019, according to the Record-Chronicle.

Gunter comes in after two straight wins. The Tigers beat Life Oak Cliff 44-26 last week and Whitesboro 34-10 the week before.

Gunter's game is one of a handful on the Record-Chronicle's Week 11 list played Thursday, while others on the list kick off Friday night.
