Neto Leads Offensive Outburst
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Neto was the driving force behind a decisive 18-3 victory over the Houston Astros on Friday at Daikin Park. The away team dismantled the host's pitching staff with a barrage of hits and power, securing a win that improved their record to 51-77.
Houston, which dropped to 64-64, could not contain the Angels' offensive surge, as Neto recorded a career-defining performance with seven runs batted in. The attendance figure for the contest was 20,934, with the final score standing at 18-3 in favor of Los Angeles.
Scoring Sequence Unfolds
The Angels struck first in the top of the first inning when Neto singled to right field, allowing Meckler to score. Houston responded in the bottom half of the first, with Wade Jr. scoring on a fielder's choice and Alvarez crossing the plate on a wild pitch. The Astros tied the game at 1-1 before the Angels began to pull ahead in the second inning.
Grissom singled to center to score Ballesteros, while Heineman's sacrifice bunt brought in another run. Frazier grounded into a fielder's choice to score Lowe, and the Angels extended their lead to 4-2. In the fourth inning, the Angels scored eight runs, with Neto contributing two singles and a double that drove in multiple runners.
Ballesteros and Grissom also added hits that scored runs, pushing the Angels' total to 10-2.
