Gunter's volleyball team is one match from the state tournament after outlasting Grandview in five sets Friday night.
The Lady Tigers won 25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-9 in the regional semifinal, according to the box score on MaxPreps. The two teams traded sets for four games before Gunter pulled away in the short fifth set.
The win was Gunter's 13th in a row and lifted its record to 31-16, by MaxPreps' count. Grandview finished 26-17.
Gunter has dropped just two sets in its last three playoff matches. It swept Life Oak Cliff on Oct. 30 and Atlanta on Nov. 2 before Friday's match. The Lady Tigers went 11-1 in district play.

The regional final opponent is White Oak. MaxPreps lists the Roughnecks at 27-15 after a five-set win over Hooks. MaxPreps shows the match on Monday, Nov. 9, with the time and site still to be announced.
