Alonso Dominates Early with Multi-Homer Performance
Pete Alonso delivered a pivotal offensive showing for the Baltimore Orioles, hitting two home runs to help secure a 10-5 victory over the Texas Rangers on Sunday. The power surge was instrumental in establishing an early lead that the Orioles maintained throughout the contest at Globe Life Field.
Alonso’s first long ball arrived in the second inning, a 393-foot shot to left field that drove in two runs and extended Baltimore’s advantage. He added another home run in the fourth inning, launching a 404-foot drive to left center that provided two more runs. His performance highlighted an offensive effort that ultimately tallied ten runs.
Orioles Establish Control in First Two Innings
Baltimore’s scoring began early in the first inning when Beavers reached on an infield single to first base, allowing Alonso to score and putting Holliday in scoring position at third. Taveras followed with a double to right field, bringing Holliday home to make it 2-0.
The Orioles increased their lead in the second inning when Cowser homered to center field, adding another run. Shortly after, Alonso’s two-run homer made the score 5-0. The Rangers managed to get on the board in the third inning as Nimmo hit a 434-foot home run to center field, driving in Langford and Duran to cut the deficit to 5-3.
Baltimore responded quickly in the fourth inning with Alonso’s second home run of the day. The Orioles added more insurance runs in the sixth inning when O’Neill homered to center field, scoring Holliday to make it 9-3.
