Von Miller has joined the Dallas Cowboys on a one-year contract, a move that comes as the team revamps its defense with around six new starters and a new defensive coordinator, Christian Parker. This signing follows Miller's expressed interest in the team during the offseason.

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer shared his confidence in Miller's skills, highlighting his sharp football intellect and quick speed. Schottenheimer indicated that while Miller may not be on the field for every play, his experience will significantly improve the team's defensive capabilities. He praised Miller's understanding of the game and his ability to navigate angles effectively.

In 2025, Miller played 17 games for the Washington Commanders, starting three and logging 420 snaps, which represented 37 percent of the team's defensive plays. In Dallas, he is anticipated to have a similar role, likely participating in critical situations like third downs.

Miller, who was drafted second overall in 2011 from Texas A&M, has had a distinguished career, including being named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and winning two Super Bowl titles.

He currently holds the record for the most sacks among active players with 138.5 and is tied with DeMarcus Ware for 13th all-time, closing in on the top 10 with just 3.5 more sacks needed this season.
