Gabriel Brooks has chosen TCU for the 2027 recruiting class after moving his commitment from Stephen F. Austin, according to an announcement he made on social media Sept. 17. Brooks said he reached the decision through conversations with his family and personal prayer, adding that staying close to home was part of the choice.
The North Crowley offensive tackle is listed at 6 feet 5 inches and 265 pounds. His previous offers came mainly from Football Championship Subdivision schools, including Stephen F. Austin and Southern University. TCU gave Brooks his first Football Bowl Subdivision offer, and he selected the chance to compete in a Power Four conference.
Brooks has helped North Crowley start the season 3-0, with victories over Aledo, Southlake Carroll and Summer Creek, which is from the Houston area. North Crowley will visit Duncanville at 7 p.m. Friday. Brooks is the 19th commitment in TCU's 2027 class, which is ranked 54th nationally and eighth in the Big 12, according to sports.yahoo.com.
