Gunter ISD has a 65-member Bond Advisory Committee working on what the district will need as the town grows, Superintendent Brandon Enos wrote in the district's November newsletter.
"Growth is coming to Gunter, and we cannot wait until our classrooms are overflowing to begin planning," Enos wrote. The committee is looking at facilities, infrastructure and learning spaces so they are ready before enrollment arrives, according to the newsletter. It does not say when the group will finish or whether a bond election is planned.
Two new awards
Enos also announced two new districtwide honors: a Gunter ISD Distinguished Alumnus Award and a Gunter ISD Service Award. The district plans to use them annually to recognize graduates and community members whose work and character have made a lasting mark on the district. Guidelines are due out in December, and nominations open in January.
A separate 32-member committee on communications and branding is in its last month, he wrote. Its work is expected to produce a written communications procedure for the district and guidelines for its branding and logos.
