A bridge on FM 3002 over Lake Ray Roberts has been closed since Friday evening after state inspectors found damage to one of its columns below the waterline.
The Texas Department of Transportation closed the span hours after underwater bridge inspectors spotted the problem Friday afternoon, KXII reported. KTEN, which reported the closure from Cooke County, said it is the eastern bridge on FM 3002.
How to get around it
Drivers heading from the west side of the lake to the east side are being detoured onto FM 922, then onto FM 372, which leads back to FM 3002, according to both stations.
How long
TxDOT has authorized an emergency repair order, KXII reported, but gave no date for reopening. KTEN said it was told the work could take months.
Neither station reported injuries or any incident tied to the damage, and TxDOT has not said what caused it.
