SMU will start its 2027 football season with Oklahoma at AT&T Stadium before playing a four-game ACC home schedule featuring Clemson, NC State, Georgia Tech and Stanford.
The Mustangs are also set to face five league opponents away from home: Cal, Virginia, Boston College, Pittsburgh and Duke. Those matchups will be part of the ACC’s nine-game conference schedule, which will be used for the second time in 2027. The league said dates and the complete schedule are expected in late January.
Under the format, teams play nine conference games and at least 10 games each season against Power Four opponents.
Under coach Rhett Lashlee, SMU is 15-2 in ACC competition and has gone unbeaten in league games at Gerald J. Ford Stadium. The Mustangs’ conference record is the best among ACC programs over that span. The team is scheduled to visit Louisville this week to play No. 23 Louisville. smumustangs.com reported the schedule details.
