A Decisive First Half Sets the Tone
The Dallas Cowboys opened their regular-season preparations with a firm statement on Sunday, defeating the Seattle Seahawks 17-7 at Lumen Field. The game was largely defined by an efficient offensive showing from Dallas in the second quarter, which built a lead Seattle could not overcome despite a strong start of its own.
Seattle took control early, capitalizing on a quick strike in the first period. Drew Lock connected with Montorie Foster Jr. on a 5-yard pass, and Jason Myers added the extra point to give the home team a 7-0 advantage. The Cowboys responded methodically in the second quarter, cutting into the deficit when Brandon Aubrey drilled a 29-yard field goal to make it 10-7 at halftime.
Brown Dominates with Two Touchdowns
The decisive moments came in the third quarter as Camden Brown emerged as the standout performer for Dallas. Early in the period, Sam Howell found Brown on a 39-yard pass to extend the Cowboys' lead to 17-7.
Later in the same frame, Joe Milton III threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Brown, sealing the victory and highlighting his impact with two catches for 62 yards and both of Dallas’s scores.
Brown finished with three receptions for 62 yards, including the two touchdowns that proved critical. His performance was complemented by the passing efforts of Howell, who completed 12 of 15 passes for 107 yards and one touchdown before handing off duties to Milton III.
