Adell and Grissom Lead Offensive Surge

The Los Angeles Angels delivered a dominant offensive performance, defeating the Texas Rangers 13-1 at Globe Life Field on Thursday. Adell was the catalyst for the Angels' attack, launching two home runs that helped build an insurmountable lead. Grissom complemented the power display with a hit in every inning he reached base, finishing with three hits and three runs scored.

The Angels struck first in the top of the first inning. Grissom singled to left field, allowing Neto to cross the plate for a 1-0 advantage. The gap widened significantly in the fourth inning when Adell homered to right field, a 359-foot shot that scored Grissom and put Los Angeles up 3-0.

Pitching Dominance and Record-Breaking Inning

Angels starter Walbert Urena pitched four innings, allowing one hit and no earned runs while walking five batters. He was supported by a bullpen that kept the Rangers' offense in check for most of the game. Samy Natera Jr. earned the win, pitching two scoreless innings with five strikeouts.

The game’s momentum shifted decisively in the fifth inning. After Grissom singled to left to score Neto and make it 4-0, Adell launched a 433-foot home run to center field. The blast drove in both Trout and Grissom, exploding the score to 7-0. Ryan Zeferjahn followed with a perfect inning, and Jose Fermin allowed one earned run in his appearance.

Late Inning Runs and Final Score

The Angels continued to pile on runs in the sixth inning. Grissom doubled to right field, driving in Lowe and Neto to extend the lead to 9-0. The power display continued in the eighth inning when Trout homered to left-center field, a 438-foot shot that scored Lowe and made it 11-0.

The Rangers managed to score in the bottom of the eighth. Higashioka homered to left-center field, a 389-foot shot, making the score 11-1. However, the Angels responded immediately in the top of the ninth. Peraza hit a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Adell, and Siri singled to left to score Guzman, bringing the final tally to 13-1. Mitch Farris closed the game with a scoreless inning.

Game Details and Records

MacKenzie Gore took the loss for Texas, pitching five innings and allowing seven earned runs on nine hits. Gavin Collyer, Ben Peoples, Robby Ahlstrom, and Higashioka also pitched for the Rangers, combining to allow six more runs.

The Angels' victory improved their record to 37-56. The Rangers fell to 46-46. The game drew an attendance of 23,288 spectators to Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
