Osuna’s Power Sparked the Victory
Corey Osuna delivered the decisive blow in the eighth inning, launching a three-run home run to right field that extended the Texas Rangers’ lead and sealed the win. The 364-foot blast provided the final margin in an 8-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday, July 8, at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
Osuna’s homer capped a five-run eighth inning that turned a close game into a comfortable lead for the home team. He had earlier reached base when Duran singled to left, driving him in, and then advanced to second base when Foscue singled to left, scoring Duran. Osuna’s power display was the only other home run for Texas, while Foscue provided the Angels’ sole longball earlier in the contest.
