The hit gave the Texas Rangers a 6-5 victory over the Houston Astros on Sunday, July 12, at Globe Life Field. The win improved the Rangers' record to 49-47, while the Astros fell to 47-51.

Early Astros Lead

Houston took control early against Rangers starter MacKenzie Gore. In the second inning, with the score tied, Jose Altuve homered to left-center field for his first run of the night. However, the Rangers quickly responded in the same frame. The Astros cut the deficit in the fourth inning when Altuve hit a solo home run to left-center field, making the score 3-2. In the fifth, Nimmo tripled to right, scoring Marcus Semien to extend the Rangers' lead to 4-2. The Astros rallied in the seventh, with Yordan Alvarez singling to center to drive in two runs, tying the game at 4-4.

The eighth inning proved pivotal for both bullpens. Josh Smith homered to left field for Texas, restoring their one-run lead at 5-4. Houston answered immediately when Jake Meyers homered to left field, tying the game at 5-5. The score remained deadlocked until the ninth.

With the game on the line, Nimmo’s single to center field proved to be the difference. Langford scored from first base, giving the Rangers the final margin. The win was credited to Jacob Latz, who earned his second win of the season. Josh Hader took the loss, dropping his record to 3-1.
