Early Astros Lead
Houston took control early against Rangers starter MacKenzie Gore. In the second inning, with the score tied, Jose Altuve homered to left-center field for his first run of the night. However, the Rangers quickly responded in the same frame. Adolis Garcia singled to right, allowing Corey Seager to score, and then Evan Carter doubled to right, bringing in Seager and Garcia to give Texas a 3-1 advantage.
The Astros cut the deficit in the fourth inning when Altuve hit a solo home run to left-center field, making the score 3-2. In the fifth, Nimmo tripled to right, scoring Marcus Semien to extend the Rangers' lead to 4-2. The Astros rallied in the seventh, with Yordan Alvarez singling to center to drive in two runs, tying the game at 4-4.
