Rio’s First NFL Game Ends With Ravens Beating Cowboys on Final Kick

A crowd of 72,792 at Maracanã watched Baltimore defeat Dallas 34-31 after Tyler Loop made a 56-yard field goal as time expired.

Baltimore beat Dallas 34-31 Sunday at Maracanã before 72,792 people in the NFL’s first game in Rio. Tyler Loop’s 56-yard field goal ended the game after Lamar Jackson connected with Zay Flowers for 27 yards and called timeout with one second left.

The Cowboys led 10-0 after Brandon Aubrey’s 28-yard field goal and Javonte Williams’ 2-yard touchdown run. Baltimore answered with two Derrick Henry rushing touchdowns, a Loop field goal and a 4-yard touchdown reception by Chris Moore, taking a 24-13 lead late in the third quarter.

Dallas responded when Dak Prescott delivered a 19-yard scoring pass to Jake Ferguson, then connected with CeeDee Lamb on the two-point conversion. KaVontae Turpin’s 9-yard touchdown run put Dallas ahead 28-24 early in the fourth.

With 1:30 remaining, Jackson threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to rookie tight end Matt Hibner. Prescott then moved Dallas into scoring range, and Aubrey’s 23-yard field goal, his third, tied the game at 31 with seven seconds remaining.

Prescott was 25 of 40 for 276 yards and a touchdown. Williams had 98 yards and a score on 19 carries, while Lamb caught seven passes for 112 yards. Jackson completed 15 of 20 passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns, and Henry ran 26 times for 89 yards and two scores. Dallas fell to 1-2, while Baltimore improved to 2-1.
