Gunter High School's fall musical, "Mamma Mia!", has its closing performances this Saturday, Oct. 10, according to the Gunter ISD calendar.

Shows are scheduled at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The high school's event calendar lists the afternoon performance in the Commons/Main Gym. The production opened the previous Saturday, Oct. 3, with the same two show times, according to the district's October Tiger Times newsletter. The district's postings do not list ticket prices.

Lemonade for a cause

Once the curtain comes down, the theatre program moves to a fundraiser. The district calendar lists a theatre lemonade stand, hosted by Amy McGaughey of the theatre program, at Gunter Middle School home football games on Thursdays, Oct. 15, Oct. 22 and Oct. 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Tiger Stadium, 410 Tiger Lane.

All proceeds go to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer, the calendar entry says.

The Oct. 22 games are the night after the district's homecoming tailgate and community pep rally, part of a homecoming week that ends with the parade and the varsity game against Whitesboro on Friday, Oct. 23.
