Early Power Surge
The Milwaukee Brewers took an early lead that would define their Saturday contest against the Texas Rangers, thanks to back-to-back home runs in the first inning. Jackson Chourio opened the scoring with a 396-foot shot to center field, giving Milwaukee a 1-0 advantage. William Contreras followed shortly after, launching a 409-foot homer to left to extend the lead to 2-0.
The Brewers added another run in the second inning when Jesus Lara singled to center. Christian Yelich scored from first base as Lara stretched for second. The Rangers’ offense struggled to respond until the fifth inning, when Freeman homered to left-center field, cutting the deficit to 3-1.
Pitching Duel and Late Rally
Texas starter Cal Quantrill worked six innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits while striking out eight batters without issuing a walk. He took the loss, dropping his record to 6-5. Peyton Gray pitched one inning, giving up one run on three hits and one strikeout. Jakob Junis entered in relief, pitching a scoreless frame with two strikeouts but walked three batters.
For Milwaukee, Shane Drohan earned the win after pitching five innings, allowing one earned run on six hits with six strikeouts and one walk. Chad Patrick secured the save opportunity by working 2 1/3 innings, surrendering two earned runs on one hit and striking out one batter. Antonio Senzatela pitched 0 2/3 of an inning, allowing one hit but no runs or walks.
