Bolte Drives in Runs
Willson Bolte delivered the decisive offensive performance for the Oakland Athletics, hitting two home runs to help secure a 9-2 victory over the Texas Rangers. Bolte’s first career multi-homer game provided the spark the A’s needed against a Rangers squad that had taken an early lead.
Bolte opened the scoring surge in the third inning with a drive to right-center field measuring 404 feet. The home run cleared the bases, bringing Clarke home and tying the game at 2-2. He extended Oakland’s advantage later in the fourth inning with another solo shot to right field, this one traveling 349 feet, which also drove in Serven.
Rangers’ Early Lead Vanishes
The Texas Rangers (69-71) started strong at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Coren Duran led off the first inning with a 406-foot home run to left field. In the second inning, Josh Foscue added to the Rangers’ advantage with a 424-foot homer to center field, giving Texas a 2-0 lead heading into the middle innings.
Neptune Heim and Tyler Williams also contributed for the Rangers. Heim homered to center field in the fifth inning, while Williams hit a 358-foot shot to left field in the same frame that scored McNeil. Williams added another run in the seventh with a double to right field, though it came too late to change the outcome.
