Bradford, Rangers pitchers hold Giants scoreless in 6-0 win

The Texas Rangers defeated the San Francisco Giants 6-0 on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, behind a five-pitcher shutout led by Cody Bradford. Bradford worked 4 1/3 innings, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out five without being charged with a run.

Tyler Alexander followed with 1 2/3 innings, allowing no hits and no walks with three strikeouts. Alexander earned the win and improved to 2-2.

Texas builds the lead in the third

The game stayed scoreless until the bottom of the third inning, when Texas put together the decisive stretch. Nimmo singled to right, scoring Langford for a 1-0 lead.

Foscue followed with a triple to left that brought in Nimmo and Burger, stretching the Rangers’ advantage to 3-0. Díaz then doubled to left, scoring Foscue and making it 4-0 before the inning ended.

Carson Whisenhunt was charged with those four earned runs for San Francisco. He allowed five hits and three walks in 3 1/3 innings, struck out four and took the loss, falling to 2-3.

Nimmo adds the only homer

Texas added another run in the bottom of the fifth. Nimmo homered to left, a 350-foot shot, for the only home run of the game and a 5-0 Rangers lead.

The final run came in the bottom of the eighth, when Lopez singled to center. Burger scored on the play, and Pederson moved to second as Texas extended the margin to 6-0.

Bullpen closes it out

Robby Ahlstrom, Chase Silseth and Cole Winn each pitched one inning for Texas after Alexander. Ahlstrom allowed one hit and struck out one. Silseth allowed one hit and one walk with one strikeout. Winn allowed one hit and did not issue a walk.

For San Francisco, Carson Seymour allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk in 2 2/3 innings, with two strikeouts. Jason Foley pitched one inning with no hits, no walks and one strikeout. Tristan Beck allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk in one inning, striking out one.

The announced attendance was 26,098. The Rangers improved to 57-58, while the Giants fell to 48-67.
