The Texas Rangers secured a narrow 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels in a game that remained deadlocked until the top of the 10th inning. The winning run arrived via a throwing error, capping an extra-inning affair where pitching dominated the scoreboard for nine innings.
Pitching Performance
Reid Detmers anchored the Angels' effort by tossing six scoreless innings. He allowed six hits and walked one batter while striking out five. Jose Fermin, Tayler Saucedo, and Ryan Watson each pitched one inning of relief, combining to keep the Rangers off the board for three more frames.
Ben Joyce finished the ninth inning but took the loss after allowing two hits and a walk in his 0.2 innings of work.
For Texas, MacKenzie Gore matched Detmers' scoreless effort over six innings, limiting Los Angeles to just two hits while issuing one walk and recording seven strikeouts. The Rangers' bullpen maintained the shutout from the seventh through the ninth. Cole Winn pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts.
Chase Silseth and Jacob Latz each threw one scoreless frame, allowing no hits but issuing one walk apiece. Tyler Alexander closed out the game in the 10th, retiring the side efficiently to earn his fourth win of the season.
