Nimmo Drives in Key Runs
Jake Nimmo provided the decisive blow in the sixth inning, singling to center field to drive in two runs and give the Texas Rangers a lead they would not relinquish. His hit capped a pivotal inning that turned the momentum at Truist Park, propelling the Rangers to a 7-6 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday, July 18, 2026.
Nimmo’s single loaded the bases with runners on second and third, and he drove in Langford and Pederson to break a 5-5 tie. The Rangers added insurance in the bottom of the frame, but the Braves responded in the top of the seventh when Dubón doubled to left, scoring Harris II for a final 7-6 tally.
Early Offensive Explosion
The game featured a high-scoring second inning where the Braves’ offense erupted for four runs. After Austin Riley and Nick Gordon had reached base, Austin Riley homered to left (406 feet) with Nick Gordon on deck, followed by a single from Riley. Nick Gordon then singled to center, scoring Riley, and Matt Albies hit a sacrifice fly to center to bring Gordon home.
The Braves took a 4-1 lead into the third inning.
The Rangers answered in the third. With runners on base, Josh Jung singled to left, scoring Higashioka. Nimmo then singled to right, scoring Pederson and moving Jung to second.
Harris II homered to right (405 feet) to give Atlanta a 5-3 advantage. However, the Rangers tied the game in the sixth when Evan Carter homered to right (356 feet) with Duran on base, making it 5-5 before Nimmo’s go-ahead single.
