A One-Sided Affair in Baton Rouge

The LSU Tigers asserted their dominance early and never looked back, securing a decisive 35-6 victory over the visiting Texas A&M Aggies at Tiger Stadium. The final score reflected a complete control of the game by the home team, which improved its record to 3-1 with the win.

In contrast, the Aggies fell to 2-2 on the season after struggling to generate any significant offensive momentum against LSU’s defense.

First Half: Early Deficit and Field Goals

LSU struck first in the opening period, taking a 7-0 lead when Dilin Jones powered in from one yard out. Scott Starzyk converted the extra point to seal the touchdown. The Aggies’ offense found its footing only late in the second quarter, with David Olano drilling a 24-yard field goal to make it 7-3 at halftime.

However, LSU responded immediately after the break in scoring, as Sam Leavitt connected with Jackson Harris on a 16-yard pass. Starzyk’s kick pushed the lead to 14-3 before the half ended.

Third Quarter: The Game Breaks Open

The third quarter proved to be the decisive period of the contest. LSU exploded for 21 points, completely shifting the momentum. Leavitt found Harris again, this time on a deep 57-yard completion that extended the lead to 21-3. Landen Clark then provided ground support with a four-yard run, making it 28-3 after the extra point.

Texas A&M managed to put two points back on the board when Olano kicked a 53-yard field goal, bringing the score to 28-6. But LSU’s offense continued its relentless attack. Clark scored his second touchdown of the day on a two-yard run, and Starzyk’s kick made the score 35-6.

The Aggies were unable to respond in the final period, as both teams finished with zero points in the fourth quarter.
