The Texas Auto Show is operating across three areas during the State Fair of Texas' opening week, giving visitors interested in vehicles a substantial destination separate from rides and food concessions.

The current show site identifies the Automobile Building, Centennial Building and Truck Zone for the Sept. 25–Oct. 18 run. The layout allows a visit to start with an indoor display or concentrate on the outdoor truck area rather than attempting every section at once. Official 2026 Texas Auto Show information

The Truck Zone is directly outside the Automobile Building. The show describes 175,000 square feet of outdoor space, so it is a major part of the exhibition rather than a small extension of an indoor hall. Official Truck Zone location and description

For Gunter readers planning a day trip, that geography suggests a manageable first decision: make the truck displays the main stop, or begin indoors and leave the outdoor area as an optional addition. The three-area arrangement is confirmed; a particular model's presence should be checked with the exhibitor before a trip built around that vehicle.

The auto show is included with fair admission, according to the fair's current value information. Food, parking and other purchases remain separate. That makes it possible to devote a fair visit to displays without budgeting for a ride on every stop. Attractions included with admission

The fair's overall hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Individual exhibit hours can differ, so visitors arriving late should check the auto-show area's closing time before saving it for the end of the outing. Current grounds and exhibit-hour guidance

For opening-week visitors, the three-area footprint is the useful starting point: choose the display area that matches the trip, then leave room for the rest of the fair.
