The Dallas Cowboys completed their roster adjustments to comply with the NFL's requirement of a 53-player limit, leading to several significant player releases. Notably, second-year running back Jaydon Blue and former second-round draft choice Sam Williams were among those waived. The team also made the unexpected decision to let go of quarterback Joe Milton III, despite his impressive preseason performances.

In a strategic move, the Cowboys added running back Emari Demercado after claiming him off waivers and signed offensive tackle Wanya Morris. Many of the players who were released were retained by being placed on the practice squad, which now features a blend of both rookies and experienced players.

This squad includes Israel Abanikanda (RB), Jordan Hudson (WR), Anthony Smith (WR), Michael Trigg (TE), and several others.

During the preseason, standout performances were noted from wide receiver Jordan Hudson and defensive tackle Tommy Dunn, who was recognized for his strong run defense. Linebacker Justin Barron, who transitioned from safety, excelled in coverage, while Reddy Steward showed reliability in the defensive backfield.

Some players cut from the Cowboys have secured new positions with other teams. Julius Wood was picked up by the Miami Dolphins, while guard Trevor Keegan signed with the Minnesota Vikings. After struggling to regain form post-ACL surgery, Sam Williams joined the Cleveland Browns.

Jaydon Blue, along with defensive backs Zion Childress and Trikweze Bridges, has signed with other NFL practice squads, beginning a new chapter in their careers.
