Quarterback DJ Lagway has made the decision to transfer to Baylor after a challenging season at the University of Florida. Lagway, who was highly regarded as the No. 3 ranked player in his class, initially joined Florida with high hopes of succeeding Graham Mertz.

After Mertz's injury in the sixth game, Lagway stepped in as the starter, leading the Gators to a 5-1 record in the last six games, including key wins against ranked opponents.

However, Lagway's second season did not meet expectations, marred by injuries and a notable loss to South Florida, which marked Florida's first defeat to the Bulls. His struggles culminated in a five-interception game against LSU, contributing to an overall disappointing record of 4-8 for the Gators and the subsequent firing of head coach Billy Napier.

Seeking a fresh start, Lagway entered the Transfer Portal and has now joined Baylor under head coach Dave Aranda. Former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow commented on Lagway's transfer, suggesting that a new environment would benefit him. Lagway's debut game for Baylor will be against Auburn, a significant matchup as both he and Coach Aranda aim to improve from last season's performance.

The game is scheduled to take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
