The Houston Texans will be without wide receiver Jayden Higgins for the entirety of the 2026 season after he suffered a torn ACL during a joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders, as reported by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

Higgins, who was drafted as the 34th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, had a successful rookie year, amassing 41 receptions for 525 yards and six touchdowns. He became a crucial target for quarterback C.J. Stroud after teammate Tank Dell was injured late in the 2024 season.

In 2025, Higgins caught 41 passes out of 68 targets, with an increase in his target share as the Texans finished the regular season with a nine-game winning streak. His performance peaked late in the season, scoring four of his six touchdowns in the final nine weeks and achieving his highest yardage totals in Weeks 13 and 17.

In Higgins' absence, the Texans will rely on players including Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel, and Justin Watson to strengthen their receiving corps. The team remains optimistic that Tank Dell, who is also recovering from an injury, may return to action during the season. Details regarding Higgins' recovery timeline have yet to be announced.
