Nico Collins has not practiced for Houston since the Texans’ Week 2 preparations, when he sustained a hamstring injury. He then missed the game against the Cincinnati Bengals, and his availability remains uncertain for Sunday’s matchup with the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium. Houston has one practice left, but no final decision on Collins had been announced.
The 27-year-old receiver opened the season with seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets in Houston’s 36-31 loss to Buffalo. If he is unavailable again, Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte could see more opportunities. Tight end Dalton Schultz has produced the most downfield yardage for the Texans through two games, with 16 receptions for 175 yards.
Collins’ next possible game would be Houston’s Week 4 home matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. He has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in every season over the last three years, including 1,117 yards in 2025, putting that run at risk. The former Michigan Wolverines player also received a contract adjustment from the Texans during the offseason.
