Dalton Schultz, the tight end for the Houston Texans, sat out all three preseason games this year. Alongside him, wide receiver Nico Collins and running back David Montgomery also did not play, while quarterback C.J. Stroud had limited action during the game against the Raiders on August 20.
Coming off a successful 2025 regular season with a career-high 82 receptions and 777 receiving yards, Schultz is expected to play a crucial role in the upcoming season. This follows his best performance since 2021 when he recorded 808 yards with the Cowboys.
With Jayden Higgins out for the entire 2026 season due to a knee injury and Tank Dell starting the season on injured reserve, Schultz, along with Collins, is anticipated to be a key target for Stroud.
Further updates on the Texans' roster and injury status remain unclear.
