Wide receiver Kayshon Boutte held a press conference discussing his recent trade from the New England Patriots to the Houston Texans, marking his first media appearance since the move. This event occurred one week after the trade, during which Boutte shared his thoughts on joining the Texans and the circumstances that led to his departure from New England.
During the offseason, Boutte had requested a trade, expressing a desire for a more significant role on the team. The signing of Romeo Doubs to a four-year contract worth $68 million and the acquisition of A.J. Brown via trade, which involved first- and fifth-round draft picks, notably influenced his situation.
As a result, Boutte found himself positioned as the fourth wide receiver in training camp, behind Doubs, Brown, and DeMario Douglas. Despite a solid 2024 season, where he recorded 42 receptions totaling 719 yards and seven touchdowns, Boutte faced the risk of being inactive on game days, as indicated by head coach Mike Vrabel following the preseason finale.
