Texas defensive lineman Hero Kanu is a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, according to an announcement from the National Football Foundation on Sept. 23.
The honor is given to a scholarship athlete whose credentials include classroom achievement, performance in football and leadership. No further information about Kanu’s selection was provided by the source.
Texas has had a player reach the finalist round in each of the last two years. Center Jake Majors was a finalist in 2024, and linebacker Trey Moore followed in 2025.
