Baylor University quarterback DJ Lagway is currently listed as day-to-day due to an ankle injury, as confirmed by head coach Dave Aranda. The team's decision about Lagway's participation in the upcoming game against Prairie View A&M will be influenced by his performance in practice this week.

In his debut with Baylor, Lagway threw for 333 yards, completing 27 of 54 passes, with two touchdowns and one interception in a close 17-16 loss to Auburn. The Bears missed a crucial two-point conversion attempt that could have changed the outcome of the game.

Auburn head coach Alex Golesh noted Lagway's resilience, emphasizing his toughness despite playing through injury. Golesh remarked, "If you’ve got any question on how tough that kid is... he got banged up early, and that is a tough, tough football player."

Lagway, who transferred to Baylor after two seasons at Florida, was a highly touted recruit, ranked No. 3 in his class. His time at Florida included a challenging season, where he amassed 2,264 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. Former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow suggested Lagway needed a fresh start and expressed optimism about his potential success at Baylor.

Further updates on Lagway's injury status are pending.
