Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Tyler Smith will have surgery on his injured thumb, according to a report from Joe Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News. The 25-year-old player is expected to be out for four to six weeks and may be placed on injured reserve soon.
In his absence, T.J. Bass is anticipated to step in as the starting left guard for the Cowboys as they gear up for the regular season.
