Jalen Thompson is expected to miss a minimum of four weeks with a hamstring injury, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said Monday. Dallas has not announced whether the safety will be placed on injured reserve, but he is considered a possible candidate for the list.
The injury occurred in the second quarter of Dallas’ 34-31 loss to the Ravens in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. Thompson’s absence adds to the Cowboys’ issues at safety. Malik Hooker has sat out the past two games with a forearm injury, while P.J. Locke went on injured reserve Saturday because of a foot injury.
Thompson had played every defensive snap through Dallas’ first nine-plus quarters of the season before leaving Sunday’s game. He had totaled 17 tackles during that span.
