The Dallas Cowboys are dealing with several defensive injuries after their first three regular-season games. Jonathan Bullard is expected to miss three to five weeks with a calf injury, while safety Jalen Thompson is projected to be sidelined for at least four weeks because of a hamstring problem. Bullard also sat out most of training camp due to a previous injury.
Thompson could be placed on injured reserve with a designation to return, alongside safety P.J. Locke. Cornerback Shavon Revel has knee and ankle injuries from Dallas' loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Rio. Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Revel's recovery was going well and that he might practice this week. The team has not confirmed whether he will play against Houston in Week 4.
Cobie Durant is not expected to travel to South Texas while recovering from a hamstring injury. Malik Hooker, who broke his forearm in the season opener, could require more time before returning. DeMarvion Overshown, absent from the previous two games with a hamstring injury, may begin practicing this week.
Dallas has worked out several players, including former Cowboys safety Juanyeh Thomas, as first-year defensive coordinator Christian Parker manages a depleted safety group before facing the Texans, who remain winless.
