The Dallas Cowboys have finalized a three-year contract extension with tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford. Agent Mike McCartney confirmed the agreement via social media on Thursday. Under the new terms, Spann-Ford will remain with the franchise through the 2029 season.
He was previously scheduled to become a restricted free agent in 2027. Before this extension took effect, he was set to earn $966,666 during the current campaign.
Spann-Ford entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2024 after playing for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Since joining Dallas, he has appeared in all 34 games. His consistent performance allowed him to assume the role of the team's second tight end. This move displaced Luke Schoonmaker, who was selected in the second round of the 2023 draft.
His receiving statistics include 18 catches for 178 yards and one touchdown. However, his value is defined by versatility. Over the past two seasons, Spann-Ford has participated in 25.5 percent of the team's offensive snaps.
He also logged 357 special teams plays last year, establishing himself as a key contributor on that unit. The agent did not provide details regarding the specific financial structure or average annual value of the extension.
