Baylor University quarterback DJ Lagway is currently listed as day-to-day due to an ankle injury, as reported by head coach Dave Aranda. The team remains hopeful that Lagway will be fit to participate in the upcoming game against Prairie View A&M on Saturday.
Lagway suffered the injury during the Bears' close 17-16 loss to Auburn in their season opener. He played through the injury, demonstrating strong leadership by completing 27 of 54 passes for 333 yards, along with two touchdowns and one interception.
His performance included a significant late-game comeback, where he connected with Gavin Freeman on a crucial fourth-and-10 play and later threw a touchdown pass to Freeman with just seconds left on the clock.
Updates regarding Lagway's recovery are anticipated after practice sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, as the team continues to assess his condition.
