Acy is the son of Quincy Acy, who played forward for Baylor from 2008 to 2012. Quincy Acy earned All-Big 12 Defensive Team recognition for the 2011-12 season and contributed near the basket through scoring, rebounding and shot blocking.
The younger Acy is described as having the size to help on both sides of the court. His listed abilities include protecting the rim, interfering with passing lanes and producing blocks and deflections. Scott Drew coached Quincy Acy throughout his Baylor career, creating a possible opportunity for Drew to lead another member of the family.
Drew became Baylor's head coach in 2003 and earlier served on the staff at Valparaiso under his father, Hall of Fame coach Homer Drew. It is not known whether that family connection will affect Bear Acy's choice. The report was published by SI.com.
