Gunter Parks and Recreation Board seeks applicants for open positions

The Gunter Parks and Recreation Board is accepting applications for open positions on its seven-member advisory board.

Appointed by City Council, the board makes recommendations to City Council and city staff about the present and future development of city parks and recreational facilities, programs, future park development and parkland acquisition.

Board members must live within Gunter city limits or reside in the City of Gunter’s extra-territorial jurisdiction, or ETJ. Members serve two-year staggered terms.

The board meets monthly on Thursdays at 6 p.m. at Gunter City Hall.

Applications may be requested by emailing the City Secretary or picked up at City Hall, located at 105 N. 4th Street. Applicants with questions may contact Detra Gaines, city secretary and director of administration, at 903-433-5185.
