The City of Gunter has announced an open position on the board of the Gunter Municipal Development District (GMDD). Applications for the role are due by July 15, 2026.
The GMDD is tasked with improving the local and regional economy. Its objectives include creating wealth through new jobs, retaining existing businesses, expanding current operations, increasing the tax base, and recruiting new businesses.
The board consists of seven members who must reside within the city limits or the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ). Members serve staggered two-year terms. Board meetings typically occur on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
Residents interested in applying can request an application by emailing the City Secretary or by picking one up in person at City Hall, located at 105 N 4th Street. The city has stated that all applications must be received on or before the July 15 deadline.
