Jack Griffin, a Texas real estate developer and co-founder of Garages of America, died in a car accident in Gunter. Five other individuals sustained injuries in the collision, which occurred near Farm-to-Market Road 121 just before noon on Sunday. The Gunter Police Department reported that the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passengers were transported to a hospital with severe injuries.
Two of the injured passengers were airlifted via helicopter. Authorities stated that an investigation into the cause of the crash is currently ongoing.
Griffin was a collegiate tennis player at Baylor University and an endurance race car driver who competed in events including the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Daytona. He co-founded Garages of America in 2012, a company that constructs customizable garage condos for high-end car collectors. Under his leadership, the firm helped establish 14 locations across Texas.
Fred Gans, the company's other co-founder, issued a statement regarding Griffin's death. "Jack was much more than our co-founder. He was our partner, our friend and the heart of the automotive community we set out to create," Gans said. "His passion and personality are woven into the foundation of this company. We will miss him more than words can express."
