Trammell breaks the game open
The final line Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Daikin Park was Houston Astros 7, Toronto Blue Jays 2. Trammell supplied the biggest swing for Houston, homering to right field in the fifth inning with Walker and Altuve aboard. The 388-foot drive was the only home run of the game and turned a one-run Houston lead into a 6-2 margin.
Altuve also drove in two runs on singles, and Walker scored twice in Houston's seven-run total.
Fourth-inning start
Houston moved ahead 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth when Diaz singled to left and brought in Altuve, with Trammell moving to second. Smith followed with a single to left, and Trammell scored on an error. Smith was safe at second on a throwing error by left fielder Sánchez, and Diaz was safe at third on an error, giving Houston a 2-0 lead.
Toronto tied it in the top of the fifth. Straw tripled to center to score Giménez, then scored on Wesneski's wild pitch, making it 2-2.
Fifth-inning swing
Houston answered in the bottom half. Altuve reached on an infield single to shortstop that scored Alvarez and moved Walker to second. Trammell then homered to right, scoring Walker and Altuve ahead of him for a 6-2 Houston lead.
