The recently launched series "Dutton Ranch," a sequel to "Yellowstone," was filmed across North Texas, featuring locations such as Boyd, which is about 54 miles southwest of Gunter. The production took place between August 2025 and March 2026, using various towns including Dallas, Ferris, Cleburne, and Fort Worth to portray the fictional town of Rio Paloma.
The series premiered on May 15, 2026, with its first two episodes, and quickly became Paramount+’s biggest original series launch, attracting 12.9 million viewers globally in its first week. The finale of the nine-episode season aired on July 3. The cast includes Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprising their roles as Beth and Rip, alongside a notable ensemble including Ed Harris and Annette Bening.
The production benefited from Texas’ Moving Image Industry Incentive Program, which supports film and television projects financially based on their spending in the state. Paramount+ has already renewed "Dutton Ranch" for a second season, although a premiere date has yet to be announced.
